215 Exhaust diameter in a Vega

I pulled the exhaust pipe clamp at the manifold to re-align the flanges to fix an exhaust leak. I measured the manifold outlet diameter at about 1.5".

    My question is:
What would be the recommended diameter of my exhaust system?

I'd like to have true duals but don't want the mufflers hanging under the floor pans. Ground clearance.......
I'm thinking of a 2-into-1pipe back to the muffler in the stock Vega location(behind the axle, sideways), then a dual outlet muffler to exhaust behind both rear wheels.

My 215 appears to be stock but I do plan on stroking it with a 300 crank that happens to be lying here(in a year or two).
This will be a daily driver. I don't want a loud muffler and was planning on a dual outlet turbo-style muffler. Any recommendations on QUIET mufflers while you're at it?

    Thanks,
    Dwight
