I don't know if many of you guys play over on the BPG website, but Bob Mackley posted this video of his pro-charged engine on the dyno. It has a modified bulldog block, and shows just what you can do with some heavy duty components in a "Buick" motor. Enjoy! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAAmna-sjnE
You know, I was reading the forum over at BPG about Buick race engines, and Bob Mackley and a couple of other guys were going back and forth about what it takes to run a pro-charger on a BBB. Bob was describing his setup and the various things you had to learn to make an engine live with the pro-charger. When Bob posted the link, I was so impressed with the HP numbers I didn't even look close at the motor. After looking at it today, I would have to say it is not a BBB. :error:
It's not a BBB or BBC. It's an aftermarket block. Sure 2000 HP is cool. But it is NOT EVER going to be a Buick unless it came out of their factory. Identical or not. Now Bill Mah's 1000 HP 350, was a BUICK!:TU:
I thought I was going blind looking for the distributer. Check this out 522 c.i. 2000 hp twin tubo BBC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad8g9IfWxKI
what is really impressive is that he made over 2000 with his own motor on 93 octane. 540 in bbc with an f3 139 on it air to water intercooler cs dominator. It made 2300 with Q16.
With that logic, then anything aftermarket bolted on one of our engines makes them not a Buick anymore? So the new TA alum. block is not a Big Block Buick? When you can bolt practically everything onto or into an aftermarket block then guess what....... :Smarty:
Just my opinion guys. In no way was I trying to knock down the efforts to make these blocks, hopefully they will be great. Looking forward to it! However, it is something to think about.:TU:
