2003 Tacoma crossmember question

    You frame guys...see the picture below and area circled in red. Is this a reasonable fix or would the entire section require replacement?

    Any certified welder should be able to fix that for you. Do you know what caused it?

    Not sure Phil, it is a vehicle I am considering buying. Tacomas are notorious for rusty frames but this one is super clean other than the crack in the crossmember.

    I wouldn't be too concerned about welding it. Use it as ammo and low ball him.....like bad

    You should give that frame the hammer test. I was servicing a yota dealership during that timeframe. Those frames rotted from the inside out. Many came in that looked great and you could literally push your fingers through the frame. At one time they had over 75 parked out back in line to be swapped..

    Yes Toyota was warranty on frame replacement. Not sure if they still do it for free or not?

    The warranty period has passed for the model years I’m considering. I think it may have passed for all models/years.

    Looks like a stress crack, not rust.
