Is there any way to identify which valve body you have without the factory paint markings? Trans went through a repop shop, tag is gone from the outside, and the valvebody was tanked or something, as all the markings are gone. All I have is "AG" cast into it, but I don't think that says much. Only thing I can tell is that it's NOT a turbo car vb, it has no 3rd gear switch on it. It also has the neutral color governor gear and two heavy weights, which are not turbo things.
The last nine digits of the VIN of the car that it was installed in at the factory should be on the left side of the trans case, just above the pan flange, on a boss . Then you need to translate that number!
I may be wrong but I think I remember seeing a stamping on the side of my VB. If the shifts are firm and timed correctly for your use, consider yourself blessed. Otherwise you are left to disassembly, measuring all of the valves and talking to someone in the know. The good 200-4R guys can probably ID at least its desirability based just on a specific valve's measurements or style used.
What numbers are cast into the servo on the pass side? Last three might be 563 , or , 692 or other. Not a sure identifier but with a 692 it could be a perf unit. Pulling the vb and disassembly and measuring the TV valve diameter and other valves will have characters cast into them. Really not worth the trouble.
If it has a different servo you can bet it probably has other mods as well so you really don't know what is in there without pulling it apart.
Assuming the valve body stayed with the trans case. If every other part ID is mutilated, I wouldn't bet on it.
