well the first one is that i have a piece of a tape deck that was in my car when i first bought it. it doesnt work. i know that the dek itself works and the speakers are properly wired and working but i still get nothing the antena and all the wires going to the deck all look good. but still nothing.
second my blinkers dont work but the bulbs are still good becuase the 4-ways work. the two lights underneet the dash must have gotten stepped on because they have gotten pulled. would that have anything to do with this?
    Thanks!

    The broken bulbs shouldn't matter.

if the hazard warning light flashers work, but the directionals don't, you might want to check your ground wire near the heradlights on the driver side (therre should be one for the headlights and one for the directionals, mounted together), but it may also be that either the switch in your steering column has something wrong with it- very unlikely- or you need a new flasher unit- much more likely. It's the round can-like thing on your fusebox, and very cheap.

Does your car have the windsheild antenna, or the traditional pole antenna?

I agree with Chris on the flasher being bad. Alot of cars have two flasher units. One for the hazards and one for the turn signals.

    Good luck

The tape deck is aftermarket, yes? I had to wire a constant-on power source to my tape deck.

Don't worry about the antenna, I was curious, it probably has absoltuley nothing to do with your problem.

When I put in a tape deck like 10 years ago, the deck face would light up, but the channels wouldn't show up in the LCD display. tape deck worked fine. The problem was that I needed another power source for the radio. I wired one into my fusebox, no troubles.

CyberBuick What she used to be....

Should be 3 main leads on the headunit.. Black, Red and Yellow. Black is Ground, Red is usually the 12v hot and Yellow is usually the 12v switched.

When I put in the stereo in my lark I used the 12v hot source from the clock since it didn't work anyways. When I put the headunit in the Chevy a couple weeks ago, I taped into the Cigerette Lighter lead as back then, they're all 12v constant. I used a blue 3M tap connector.

    :Dou:

Why didn't I think of that??? I don't have a clock and the wire's sitting there doing nothing! Instead of using that, I made a new power source...good idea, Scott.
