I bought this car with it missing the mounting bolt for the air cleaner. I purchased an original air cleaner form a member here, but now I realize there is no stud protruding from the carb. Is there a top, clip on style stud, or what? There is no place to thread anything into the carb.....what gives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, any good sources for purchasing the stud? What does my choke hook to? Thanks, Ron
Hey I don't mean to know a lot, but I do have a 65 Special with the 300 V8. Here is a pic of my carb. The air cleaner is attached with a bolt that is suspended in place by wire wrapped around the head of the bolt. The wire as you can see is 'U' shaped with the bolt upside down (facing up) and twisted in the middle of the wire. Finding the part will be the challenge! Good luck!
