Can the supercharger fluid be changed or replenished in a similar fashion the what other Easton superchargers are? I have experience with Thunderbird SuperCoupe and Mustang Corba supercharger service procedure and am wondering if a similar procedure exists with the GM 3800 series cars?

I have ordered the fluid from GM dealer and am curious as to the procedure and specifics.

FYI, the local Chevy dealers says it can't be serviced and that the car needs a new supercharger and the cylinder heads replaced. :puzzled: I think they are either incompitent or have some other agenda.

The dealer shops are not allowed to service the supercharger. The GM service manuals don't even give a change interval. However, the consensus these days among the SC crowd is to change the fluid every 30k miles or couple years or so. If yours has never been changed, it will SMELL!

If the shop is saying you need a new SC, it may simply be the plastic snout coupler is worn out. It's a $30 part and not very difficult to replace, see ZZ Performance online store. I've done it on my 98 Riv.

The fluid is removed thru a small plug on the top/front side of the SC body. Use some type of suction tube or syringe. Get out as much as you can. You need almost 8oz to refill it. Fill to the bottom of the threads in the plug hole.

Thanks for the help. I'm not surprised by GM not wanting it serviced.
