I need to replace the dash wiring harness on my 75 Lesabre Convertible. I found one in a junkyard but its not a convertible. Will this affect my letting the top top by the switch if the new dash wiring harness is not from a convertible?
whats bad with your harness? i have one still in a car that i might part with (when it warms up and thaws)... what they bringing these days? try to get from a car that at least has all of your power windows, etc... compare these options that you might have to the donor car. ACCESSORIES THAT MIGHT VARY FROM HARNESS TO HARNESS COULD BE... speedalert power antenna auto climate control delay wipers power locks (might be a stand alone harness.. icant remember) windows verts didnt have ACRS (air bags) but the wires might exsist in other harnesses ... but that would be OK. also power taps that go from the fuse box to the power seats, powerlocking seatbacks are nice to keep extras of. hopefully if anyone else thinks of anything or has more specific info, maybe they will chime in a straighten both of us out.
i have to call today to find out how much they want for it...when i bought the car some of the wires under the dash had been cut...but do you know if the top is tied into the harness? and i need it asap
are the wires very thick? what color? where are they? pics? are they able to be splice back together? this is another instance where the 75 (76 didnt have a buick convertible) service manual would be handy. it explains about every wire in the car. i have seen 75 manuals on ebay that are cdroms scanned fro the book. printing pages off keeps the grease out of the book!:bglasses:
