I recently purchased a 455 engine and TH 400 transmission out of a
1975 Electra 225. I'm planning on putting both into my 65 Skylark, but
I'm wondering if the trans has the "short tail", or the "long tail" on it.
Can anyone tell me ? :Do No:

Pretty sure that is the long tail used in most big Buicks.

Short shaft extension housing is 4 1/4" long, long shaft is 9 3/4" long. Just look at the back of the trans and measure it.

    Shifter Linkage

Can the column shift linkage be used or modified to operate the
    TH-400 transmission ?

    Thanks,
    Mark
