1975 Buick Century Free Spirit. 64k original miles. T-tops originally installed by Hurst. The car has been in my family since purchased new. My grandfather purchased it to promote our family business at the time. The car was used in parades and paced a couple bicycle races. The car sat in the old wearhouse for yrs and then my Mom decided she would like to get it going again to drive it to play golf. Whatever. So I got it running good with tune up and replaced some gaskets. Cleaned it up and had it painted. The paint job is awesome. Straightest mid 70s car you will ever see. No Bondo. The car just had some surface rust along the door bottoms and maybe some behind the rear wheel wells but it was just serface rust. Once I got the car back from paint I had the new tires and wheels installed. My Mom used the car for two summers and has now lost interest. We no longer have storage so it is eating up space in my garage. I was going to add some HP and enjoy it myself but I have to many other things going on and not enough time. The car is really in great shape. There are a few interior cosmetic issues but nothing really bad. I would give the interior a 7 out of 10 and the exterior a 9 out of 10. The only reason I cant give the exterior a 10 is do to the rear tailight filler. It has fallen appart and I have yet to have it replaced. The car drives just like a 1970 GM car should. The car can be driven anywhere. Asking price is $8,600. Pictures speak for themselves. Vehicle is located in Central Illinois. Please call with questions. 309-750-1000 Thanks,Dave
What does "Free Spirit" mean? I thought it might have graphics. Do you have the original wheels and were they 15 x 7 rallyes? Did I miss the engine size? Is it a 350 4 barrel?
Free Spirit was a sticker kit, T-tops and a few other odds and ends. More info here. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/09/08/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1975-buick-century/ Yes I have the original wheels and yes they are 15x7 ralleys. Yes it has a 350 4 barrel.
the "free spirit" decals were unlike today's decals. they are not reproduced. have friend in sarnia who had a fellow recreate modern day decals that look like the originals.
I'm gonna get in line on this one. Am I first, because it seems like there are a few tire kickers! o No:
Nice ride. FYI the decals where actually placards. Mine where stripped and went with some nice air brush work. ---------- Post added at 10:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ---------- Dave, where you able to sell mom's car?
Seller has not checked in since Dec, and most of his 5 posts are for the sale of this car. YOu would need to contact him directly.
Hey guys, car is still for sale. Lots of interest but nothing materialized. If your interested please let me know.
Have some interest in the car. What is the mileage? What options? A/C? cruise, radio etc...does everything work? Thanks, John
64,000 original miles, Has Cruise, AC, originally a AM Radio only car. Now it has an aftermarket unit. I will post up the window sticker and manual pics.
Does everything work? Can you post pictures of the filler panel that needs to be replaced? Still interested. Trying to figyre out when I can drive up to look at it. probably not for a couple of weeks. Thanks, John
