I found this on Collector Car Trader Online: "1973 BUICK, GS, Stage one, 4 speed, body off restoration, driveline, frame, suspension and paint are done, bumpers recently re-chromed, needs interioe, no rust, $6000, 734-560-6387 Northville" http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/0/2/84769402.htm
This is the car I have been patiently waiting for....If it is truly a Stage 1 4 speed car, I will have documentation to disprove that there were only 7 produced. I will have to start bugging this guy now...
If it is an original 4 speed there will be numbers stamped on the tranny case to verify it. Also, If he has any Sloan documentation,it will prove it. I f Eric can get me a VIN,and seems like this is truly a 4 speed car, I can get the Sloan info myself to prove it. Pat
OK, the seller's name is Bill Young and he sounds like a super nice guy. He is emailing all the info and pictures to me. It is NOT an original 4-speed (or I would have already handed him the cash, ha!). It is an original Stage 1.
Sorry it's not an original 4-speed. Please post all the info and pictures the seller provides. It looks like a neat car. I'd be tempted to put in an overdrive automatic, since the original auto is gone. Or a 5-speed, if my left knee could still handle a clutch.
Still waiting for pics. Here are the basics per the seller: Original Stage 1 auto car from Kentucky. Has "V" in the VIN. Body: body panels (1/4's, etc...) professionally replaced by his son Paint: show quality painted 10 years ago with minor scratches now Engine: not original block, KB cam, 10 qt oil pan, holley carb Axle: original 3.42 posi Frame: original Car has been stored for last 10 years. Since there is no longer any need for me to verify the transmission date code I will gladly look at this car in person only if someone is seriously interested.
