You have it wrong DL, if you wanted to buy it for that price you would have had to have been at the Russo and Steele auction last week. That price is old news!
We'll I guess I must have paid too much for this one also.....good thing I like these Buicks. Does anyone intimately know about the Flame Orange Stage 1 going across the block today at Mecum in Kissimee Florida?
I don't think anyone thinks you paid too much at 30K Isn't the other car the orange one from ebay listed at 60K BIN
Did you see this thread on the Orange Stage 1 Convertibles http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=219829
John beat me to the punch with the link to the zone cars. I also don't believe you paid to much for that car. I'm not as tune in to market as you are Stefano, as you make a living at this. But there just aren't many cars out there that can be flipped for a large profit without some detailing, fixing small items, or putting things back to original condition. I know those bumpers on the 72's when bumped slightly as that car is, to me, make them look poorly, sort of like they have been pinched. As easy fix that makes a world of difference in the appearance. I also spend some time lurking around the Super Car board, and your Nickey site. Your selection of cars available is awesome. I would love to own one of your continuation Camaros, they look top notch. Hopefully we will meet up with you at the Super Car event in Joliet in July,as I tentatively plan to attend if a Pure Stock is added to the program. Best of luck with the sale of the Vert.
The one I mentioned is a Zone car http://www.autabuy.com/Vehicles/Details.cfm?VID=474710&Year=1972&Make=BUICK&Model=SKYLARK I wonder how many stage 1 verts in flame orange that were not zone cars. Orange was not a real popular color for Buick in those days. Greens, browns, tan, those were the ones people bought . I personallt know of a red one, 2 dark green, and a covert tan example
Thanks Jim, If my Crystal Ball was working properly, I'd be retired by now, LOL. I believe that Super Car Reunion number XIV will be expanded to include ALL makes of Super Cars as well as any Muscle Cars belonging to Members. The SCR is expanding its scope, much like we did with the MCACN shows. I'd love to see some of the Buicks running against COPOs, Yenkos and such.....that is a big part of what these cars are all about. "As many of you know, Gateway International Raceway was closed shortly after SCR13, and is now for sale. Through the years, and even more so the last few months, we have had several inquires from facilities and organizations wanting to host the SCR, but until the closing of GIR, we felt Collinsville was the best fit for the SCR. With the closing of GIR, we were faced with the reality of rethinking how we do things. Though it has taken longer then we had hoped to decide upon such a facility, we are very excited to say Route 66 Raceway will be the location for SCR14. Friday July 29th, 2011. More details to follow as we finalize things. For those not familiar with Route 66 Raceway, it is part of the Chicagoland Speedway Properties, located in Joliet, IL, Southwest of Chicago. Their facilities are second to none, hosting both NASCAR and NHRA events. http://www.route66raceway.com/ Racing, showing, or just hanging out with friends, I hope everyone will support SCR14, making it the best one yet." We'll clean that Stage I up a bit and your right about the front Bumper...It just needs a small adjustment. I won't be able to help myself and have to add N25 exhaust to the car, get the AC working ect.....anyone have a bumper for sale? See you in Joliet, Friday July 29th.
I'm surprised that Mark sold that car. It was a good looking driver. Does he have something else up his sleeve, like a 70 car? I know he was nuts about mine. Dan
There were 3 more Flame Orange Stage 1s built after the initial 25 zone office cars. 1 car built in April, May, and June of '72. There was only 1 Sandlewood (covert tan on a chevy) stage 1 convert built and now Stefano owns it. Sorry for the highjack. I've seen this Sandlewood car many times and have always wanted to own it. It's a great car.
