!972 Skylark Custom in burnished copper. I bought this car last year from another board member for my daughter and son-in-law. He has his sights set on a Firebird so I'm selling it for what I have into it. I love this car but I'm limited with storage space. It's still early in the season here so I'll give board members a look at it before I sell it locally. It's a 67,000. mile all original California 2 door with a 350-4 , turbo 350 and dual exhaust. The 15" Buick Rallys are nice with Goodyear Eagle II (275-60 rear and 235-60 fronts) with good tread left. The car is rock solid with excellent trunk, frame, floors and body panels. There was a small hole at the bottom of the rt. front fender that was repaired and repainted. The interior is original and in great shape with the exception of two tears on the drivers seat bottom and a worn armrest pad. All the gauges work (except the clock). It has the original working AM radio and I installed a Sony AM/FM casette player underdash with detachable face and a 10 disc CD changer in the trunk. There are two 6x9 speakers on the rear deck. The front bumper is like new and appears to have been replated. The rear bumper is good and straight but is beginning to fade a bit. GS grille. All trim is intact and nice. Options include power disc brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, ice cold air conditioning (professionally converted to 134a), speed minder and optional gauge package. Battery is like new. I recently replaced the valve cover gaskets, plugs and points. The car runs and drives great and stays cool.. It uses no oil and shifts perfect. Seems to have been well maintained. At 34 years, it has it's share of small nicks and scratches but nothing major. There is the typical paint loss around the rear window frame but no rust through and the typical core support rust under the battery (but not as bad as most I've seen). I also repaired some paint loss at the c-pillar where the factory leaded joint is, so there is some minor mismatch of color. This car looks decent and is the perfect driver. Very minimal work and new paint would make this car show ready (or good base for a clone). I would feel confident enough to drive this car anywhere in the country. $4200.00
if possible is there a 6th place (GREG L) if all in front of me cant i can so CALL ME @ 630-262-8230 don
I'm going to step aside, Mike. My buddy is on 2 week vacation and roughly lives 110 miles from you so rather than ask you to wait I'll turn the rest of the pack loose on it. I'm sure I'm going to kick myself later but I'll just pour some more money into the race car project :beer Thanks for the patience.
Thanks for the interest, Eddie. I'll probably kick myself later for selling it but hey, I sold a 1969 Z-28 in 1973 for $1100. and traded in a rust free 1968 Mustang convertible for $500. on a new 1976 Monza. I'm no stranger to making bad decisions ou: I only wish my 65 was as solid as this car. Anyway, I'm supposed to hear by tomorrow from a buyer and if he fails to call, I'll go down the list. Thanks, Mike
Next to the blue one!!! Soon in the boat....soon here.... Can 't wait to see it pictured next to my Burnished copper 72..... one blue, two copper....two David
