Thanks for your comments and the offer - but I am going to keep the column shift set up and just put a shorty console inbetween the buckets.

Just an update on my '72 vert. I spoke with the original owner again tonight for a while and he told me more about the history of the car. He was a convertible guy (still is) and when his wife was in a bad car accident with her 1965 Galaxie 500 convertible, he bought her the 1972 Skylark Custom convertible in July of 1972. The car was undercoated to protect it and always stored indoors. It was only driven 1,000 to 2,000 miles a year. He did show the car a few times at the Long Island Flowerfield car shows in the 1990s and took a number of trophies with it. He sold the car because too many grandkids wanted the car and he wanted a new convertible so he partly traded it in for a 2005 Toyota Solara convertible.

Also, the 1970 Skylark that I found paperwork on is no longer around - a tree landed on it many years ago. The original owner (and his family) were great to talk with and it's nice to know more about the history of the '72 vert.

Chris: Nice car ! I have one EXACTLY like it. It too orginally came from out
east. Virginia If I remember. I'm the second owner. Got it from a little old lady. Paper work was 2 inches thick. Every time she spent a nickel on it she kept the reciept. Ken
