    Hi All,

My 72 LeSabre front door hinges are worn at the roller, not the pin and bushings.

    Are these repariable?

If so where can I find parts.

If not where can I find replacements?

    Thanks
    Chad

    Hi chad,
I couldn't find parts either. You'll need a hinge spring compressor, check harbor freight tools.
If you're talking about the roller itself...here's what I did on my 77 Riviera.
I took a piece of round bar stock. Can't remember...it was either 5/8" or 3/4". I cut about a 3/8" piece from round bar stock. Located center and drilled a hole slightly larger than 5/16". Found a pair of flat washers slightly larger diameter than the bar stock. Placed one on each end of the "wheel" making something that looks like the original roller. The shaft the roller attaches to should be hollow. IIRC I used a 5/16" SAE tap and tapped threads inside the hollow shaft. Got a 5/16" SAE bolt long enough to go through the roller and far enough into the cut threads in the hollow shaft. Use the spring compressor to get the spring out of the hinge. Slide the bolt through the washers/wheel. Grease up the roller area keeping the threads on the bolt clean. Apply Lok-Tite to the threads and screw assembly into the newly cut threads. Only snug the bolt far enough to allow the roller to turn without any wobble. Let it sit for a day and let the Lok-Tite work. Swing the cam arm to contact your homemade roller and install the spring. Good luck.
