I am listing this car on behalf of my cousin. For sale is a 1972 Buick GS 350 that I bought in about 1993 and sold to him about 11 years ago. It had recently come to Manitoba from Vancouver. In the time I owned it I replaced the rear quarter panels put on a new vinyl top and gave it a paint job. I also put a posi in the stock 3.08 8.5 10 bolt. The engine had a rear main seal leak and bad valve seals (smoke on start up). He has just lived with these issues. Since he has owned the car, he has installed headers (hookers I believe) and had part of the car painted again because of a keying. The car has rusted body mounts (see picture). It has 14X6 wheels on the front and 15X7 on the rear. The next time I'm in town I'll take it for a ride so I can report on it's driveability. The car is located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and he is asking $4900. I will try to answer your questions the best I can. I am adding his description from his add. <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <woNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--> I purchased this muscle car in 1999 and have stored it each winter. Unfortunately I'm not mechanically inclined and can't it the TLC it deserves (aside from basic fluid changes, washing and detailing). It runs very well and has lots of juice left. A great fixer-upper for someone looking for a project car. Interior is in excellent condition (one rip on the driver side seat and could use a new carpet - dash is near perfect). This car turns lots of heads on the street and will be very hard to let go. Note that it is not safetied. 350 - 4 bbl, AT, CD, K&N Air Filter, brand new tires on the front, $750.00 worth of recent work including electrical to get all the lights working, brake pads and shoes, shocks, spark plugs, stereo installed hidden away in the glove box to ensure factory stereo remained intact.
Randy, I saw this car last Sunday at Tavern United, and spoke at length with the owner. I also have a few photos, which I'll try adding later today. He seemed motivated to sell.
Hi folks, I'm the newest member and new owner of this car. i can't wait to share the restoration documenation with you, keep an eye out for new photos to come. Also, Hi Trevor, hopefully will meet some day as i'm sure you will enjoy seeing this car come back to life with much muscle. I'm currently restoring the car in detail and its come along great. heres a few pics, as it was coming apart. ( check out the new rims and rubber, 17" American racing). The car deserves it! I will post progress as it develops. So far, the frame has been blasted and detailed, also the motor/tranny are complete with paint and parts detail. I hope to have it back on the road by early August, will see how it goes. I'm so grateful to have purchased this car, as it is going to be really enjoyed! Have a good one all!
Glad to see you join up here.:beer I'll be looking for your car later this summer. I think you got a good deal on this car, and I'm glad the seller was happy too!:TU:
I have to agree, it is a deal that doesn't happen to often. I have not seen many GS Buicks for sale around winnipeg, so we jumped at the chance. See you around! Jon
You bet, it is code 65 all numbers matching car. I just purchased a quart of paint at 160.00. urethane is still available at a reasonable cost. regards Jon
I am pleased that my old car has gone to someone who is going to put some effort into it and enjoy it. Here is the picture I took of it after I painted it (in my garage) circa 1993. Randy
Thanks Randy, i sure have the effort ongoing. you would be amazed. I will post some pics when i get the chance. The fenders and rad cradle were very bad, but its coming along. Your cousin was lucky the motor and tranny did not fly out of the car, i found one engine mount completly broken, and the other almost gone. also the tranny bushing strap on the frame was completly gone, so i don't know how it held out. anyways got new mounts and the car is back in action, hopefully will have it done in Aug. its a lot o wor k for two months time. Oh i didn't mention it but the car is getting a new paint job, i had to get rid of the front end base clcear job. The car is getting Dupont Urethane code 65 factory color. I can't wait to get it bck on the road. very soon!!!! Have a good one!:beer
Ya, the car needed some work but it still looked and worked great. I took it to Gimli and it ran 15.55 (this is before Brent put the headers on). But it's overdue for some TLC. I look forward to seeing your progress.
