I wonder if he has a near duplicate one of one without all the rust?! Those big Buick’s are hard enough to sell without all that rust. Money pit
Uh huh...yeah, it's a bit crusty. Been sitting for 30 years too. I've always liked Centurions, they're beautiful cars, but someone has to draw the line somewhere. Malaise era fullsize cars still aren't worth the big bucks, nor are they likely to be. There is no parts support for these things, and existing examples of parts cars are disappearing fast. What is out there has been picked over, so the likelihood of finding that one trim piece or a half decent fender are slim, most of what's out there is either preserved or scrap, no in between. This thing in the condition it's in, regardless of how rare it's purported to be will never be worth more than salvage value. So it looks like the owner's going to be hanging on to his gem a little longer. He likely knows what he has got. Best thing to do if you like these cars is to start off with a really nice one and maintain it, and never have to restore it. This one isn't worth it.
Yeh I just loooooooooove the ads where the seller wants to lead off with something positive “the body is in beautiful condition,1/4 panels & fenders need small patches”
I just can't get past the giant bumper of the 73's. I have 3 '72 Big Buicks, Centurion Convertible, Electra Custom 2dr and an Estate Wagon. They really are great cars.
Vin code W - so it's got the Stage 1 heads (big valves). And a 3.42 rear. Too bad about the rust because it's a desirable car for us fans of the big tanks. 8k isn't a horrible number, but you'd have to go see just how bad the rust situation really is. My guess is it is bad but you never know.
Yup; almost cried when I saw Crusty there, it'd be a gorgeous car with the right options to do something with. It's a shame that a car like that was left to rot like that. If a guy had one with a better body this would make a great parts car. $8K isn't a horrible number, no, but I get the impression by all that this ad is hiding that $8K would be ambitious and $2500 would be more realistic, and that's only because of the parts.
Well, it does come w/an NOS quarter... Loaded w/options but a labor of love. Rare doesn't equal valuable.
Looks like an original Massachusetts car, 49 years of salted roads with the added bonus of being in Fall River with salted air, me thinks the rust you see is only the beginning.
I have a 72 convertible. Would you happen to know what frame can I use from another car? I'm trying to save her.
