Steve, what great job you did! This is the 3rd or 4th time I have seen this video.

On a kinda', sorta' related note. I had recently read that when the Boattails were being drawn up on paper (before any 3D mechanical renderings) in the very early '70's, the plan was to slightly downsize the Riviera line and the new Boattail design to the Skylark/GS chassis to gain performance and keep the proportions tighter on the unusual shape ... imagine that? The original concept drawings were apparently much smaller in size in this anticipation and had to be redrawn a little larger for the full-size chassis. Maybe the longer Grand Prix/Monte Carlo chassis was the plan? I bet that there would've been a factory Riviera 4-speed and the GS's Stage 1 engine & BB TH400 as well, if the smaller chassis were used, as the pieces were already largely already developed and in the parts bins at GM. Just straight from the "What If" file.

Thanks much! Funny, I just happened to be thinking of it myself, locked deep in the dead of winter. I'm not completely satisfied with pedal effort and travel, too short and too stiff. Now running a Centerforce II clutch assembly. Come spring, I will try the Novak Adapters slave cylinder/braket with a RAM clutch assembly and 455 Skylark clutch fork. If still not resolved to my liking, I'll fab a custom Z-bar for an all mechanical setup.
