I'm picking it up tomorrow morning and wondered at the value of a runner. Interior isn't bad but could use some freshening up, no real rust other than some surface rust on the hood. I'm told the engine is in good shape though the guy didn't have a key. I know the car has had the top end of the engine done, it has an HEI (not stock for 1971) with a new cap and 8.5 MM wires, a K&N filter in the stock housing, etc.

I plan to pick it up either way since I am getting the whole car for what I would have paid for an engine alone. I just wondered if it has any collector value. I'd hate to part out something that has value to somebody as is. :spank: I only need the engine for a swap into my Suburban.

Oops! Sorry. It's a 4 door with what is left of a vinyl top, black vinyl interior and seems to be a low option car with A/C and that's about it. Roll up windows, manual seat, etc.

I've got her home now and had an opportunity to look a little closer. The rear quarters seem pretty soft and the battery tray is toast. No keys so I can't get in the trunk. There is some mildew in the rear passenger footwell and if anyone needs some Dairy Queen uniform shirt, in dire need of laundering, I know where you can get three or four. :Brow:

The bumpers and all of the trim parts are there and looking fine.

I'll be handling the title work this week and gettting a new ignition cylinder and door lock cylinders. Anybody know how to get into a trunk with no keys, without using a punch and dorking up the trunk lid?

66electrafied Just tossing in my nickel's worth

It takes a bit of dexterity, a good steady flashlight, and about 5 feet of extensions, but it beats smashing the crap out of a trunk lid, and it can be done. Got into a 67 LeSabre that way.

See! That is just exactly what I want to avoid! The fenders, hood, trunk lid, doors, etc. are all in super condition and I didn't want to beat them up. I mean, if it was all rusty anyway that would be different. :TU:
