I'm doing some brake work on my '71 GS. It has drum brakes all the way around. There is an unusual, short FRONT metal brake line from the flex hose hose to the wheel cylinder. I've shown it in the pictures.

This line on the driver's side is rusted badly, and I want to replace it. Is this short metal line an OEM unit only, or can I make something up? I haven't seen this gizmo before, and wanted to get some suggestions from the list before proceeding. Thanks for any help. John

John, I just looked at my 71 skylark parts car, it has power drum brakes and has the same set up as you have pictured.

You can buy those lines already made up. Look into inlinetube or classic tube.

I replaced all my brake and gas hard line on my 71 GS with drum brakes.
