Hi guys, I did a search but wanted to ask a few questions: I want a new grill for my 71 GS, just sent a used Ebay back today due to it not as described. Anyway I see T/A lists one for $575 any feedback? The Parts Place has a buy it now on eBay for $600 or $629 though their catalog. I thought I read on here that a member was actually the producer of all of them?? Any help would be appreciated. Ron:confused:

Thanks for the heads up on that grill but new is the only way I'm going unless a perfect used shows up. One man's opinion of nice is always different than mine. Ron

I have the Parts Place grill. I think they all come from the same supplier. Can't remember who Parts Place gets them from, but mine was very nice. Can't imagine too many place repoping such a limited interest item. Bought a lot of parts from TA Performance as well and was always happy with them. Can't go wrong either way, both are good sources.

Don't want to hijack the thread but was just curious if a 1972 GS grill repro was ever planned? There are 1970 and 1971 GS repro grills but no 1972s?:Do No:

There was some discussion of it at one time (can't find thread) but I think the general consensus was that the 72 grilles are still out there, and that they tend to hold together better than the 71's due to lighter design, plus short studs, exact same grille as skylarks except paint (more supply) etc. Also the 72's have been ignored a bit over the years but that seems to be changing (I'm guilty too, always preferred the 71 styling over the blacked out trim and odd grille of the 72 style, but now I have one!!).

I have a 71 parts place grille. Early run had some issues with the stud hole sizing but that is not a big deal to fix, and should be corrected now. VERY nice part...

TIM R Thanks for your write up on the 71 Grill, now the only decision is to see if T/A is selling the TPP grill since it's $25 cheaper!!

No worries, here is a link to Georges thread on the hole issue and his site has details on fixing it should you run into this. I consider this a small issue in the overall scheme of things, some not so much so just ignore the political garbage with the GSCA comments and such (they make (made?) a grille as well).

I have no idea who sources parts from where, but I do know TPP grille is a nice product.

Only three choices on 71 GS grilles. 1. original GM 2. Parts Place 3. GS club made by Oliver in France. I have the GS club grille but it came in black plastic and was a pain to paint. I have heard the Parts place grille is a little different looking in the back. I can tell you the GS club grill once painted is a very good likeness of the original. The only difference is the little connecting rectangles are filled in the back unlike original which was hollow but they do not show anyway. You may have a tough time finding one now. I think Parts place is made in China as well. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I know, it seemed so silly, NOS prices hit 3000.00 + and then all of sudden we had TWO grilles available aftermarket competing against each other. Regardless of which one you choose, you really can't go wrong IMHO.

And your point?? One Grill is made over sea's and the other is made in France. Already purchased misrepresented used and sent back. No one contacted me since I made this post with an affordable NOS one. I'm not the bad guy here just making my car nicer.:Do No:

I wouldn't worry about it, the message is posted from a computer with made in China parts while sitting on chair made in China and transmitted over wires and through servers made in China. Nobody in America could be bothered to make these things for us (I guess they are busy selling out their banks and auto industries). They are sold at an American company so you are helping support their jobs.

I say good score on the price and it will look fantastic on your car. Please keep us updated.:)
