I am selling my 1971 GS 455. It has 77kmi. that is documented by receipts. Supposed to be a one owner car. Car is best to use for parts. Has been sitting since 1988. I bought it to use for a parts car for a 71 GS roller that went to the crusher today before I got to it so I have no need for this car. Car comes with bill of sale only. No keys either. It appears to be all original except the carb which I have a receipt in the car for a replacement carb in 1979. The body is rough, only good body parts are the hood which needs paint but not rotted or dented up. The decklid and passenger door appear solid and the drivers door has some lower inner rust but fixable. Everything else is rotted. Frame and rear floors are rotted. All emblems are there and all glass is good. Has all chrome trim that is driver quality and red striped rocker trim is decent too. Car has 5 14" rally wheels with 4 center caps and trim rings. No gas tank but I have the rear bumper.... Interior is green bench and everything is decent except the front seat and carpet. Real nice dash pad. NO A/C. plain jane door panels with no emblems, factory AM radio, mirror map light, nice visors. Has sport mirrors with Drivers remote but handle is not there. I think that the clip is off and the controller fell down in the door but not positive. The car is supposed to be all original except the carb. I checked the motor for numbers and found 048 on the block near the oil dipstick tube. Don't see any other numbers. If somebody tells me where else to look,I'll check. I just don't see anything else but it was dark here all day so I may have overlooked something. The motor is full of oil and the antifreeze is still full in the radiator.....it's set up though from sitting I assume and it doesn't turn over with a breaker bar. Every piece of emissions is on this engine and nothing is cut or removed. All original engine harness with no splices. I removed the breather which is complete except for the foam seals. It has surface rust mainly on the lid but is not broken or bent. The 455 Big Block shroud is perfect as well. Car has power disc brakes. Dual exhaust front pipes are still solid too. Car has big block steering shaft. Transmission is a BA code trans with 71BA 1545 on the tag with 71a 244 on it as well. I didn't look for the vin because I can't get under there to see it but it appears original as well. Obviously has big block crossmember and turbo 400 drive shaft. Rear end doesn't have a sway bar and I assume that it is open because of no tag but I haven't checked yet. $2000 buys this. Like I said, great parts car......I will possibly part it out if I get time and it doesn't sell complete. If you are local, come check it out. It is as described. You definitely need to trailer this...can NOT be flat towed... Oh yeah...Vin is : 434371H104439....:Brow: $2000
I would like to be first in line for some goodies off the car if it does not sell and you end up parting it out. Thanks in advance! Sad to see one in that condition.
I'll let it go for a week then start taking it apart if one of the 2 interested parties do not purchase the car. Let me know what you'll need.
I'd like to get in line for the body side moulding if you part it out - can't find that stuff anywhere. BH
Checked by dipstick again today. TR code is stamped on the block. Original motor. Also has original distributor and alternator. Sale pending.... Awaiting deposit. Thanks for all of the interest
V7 Super Sport Rally wheels ,sport mirrors was this car a N25 through the bumper exhaust car? Also does it have F41 rear sway bar and posi 3.08 axle or optional 3.42 posi axle? This car should be saved, it is no parts car.
Not sure of the bumper.......It came with the car and I haven't looked at it. No rear sway bar and I haven't checked for the gear ratio yet. I agree that with 1378 made, it is worth saving......Especially being a numbers car. Kind of a rare combo,I think. Has all chrome body moldings, vinyl top and sport mirrors but plain interior with no gauges and no AC. Weird to see a car with sport mirrors and the other body add ons and a plain interior but disc brakes.... I guess that it must have been ordered that way.
Car is not a N25 bumper car. Bumper is decent though. I changed all 4 wheels today and put some tires on it that hold air so it rolls easily. Still awaiting deposit. If it falls through, I'll go to the next person in line.
