What kind of front spring insulators should I use for 1971 Buick GS? I ordered some from OPGI but they don't seem to fit the spring. Anybody have any advice?

Go to www.rockauto.com Click on Buick, then 1971, then Skylark, then 350, then suspension, and then coil spring insulator. Plenty there with pictures and all.

Oh, and if you order anything, here is a discount code, 4313659139109463 Just put it in the box titled "how did you hear about us?" and it should be good for 5% or so.

I got my springs from Eaton. The fronts came with isolater's. When I took the old (original) springs off there was no isolator but I figured what the heck, it came with the springs so I put them on anyway. Bad idea. They made my front end sit much higher than stock height (aprox. 1" or more). It was also extremely difficult to get the spring, isloator, and the 3 tabs that hold the upper spring to line up together. Like others have said, the chassis manual does not show any, you don't need them.

I just took them off last weekend and it sits where it should now, but I had to take off the shocks, sway bar links, break the ball joints loose, compress the springs etc...all over again just to get them out.

    They looked like these:

It shows a 'front spring shim' that 'may' be ordered from the factory to correct side to side variations in trim height.

That's what my chassis manual shows anyway.

When I removed my original springs there were no shims on either side, or isolators.

    Yup, shims, not insulators.
