Finally got the bugs worked out of the car/trans and took it out for a spin. Spent two hours on the road without a lick of trouble or running into anything else interesting. Didn't go out looking for a fight on the road, but as I was getting close to home on I-71, a 1971 or 72 Monte Carlo came up from behind on me. He came up beside me on the highway and thought he was going to blow me away with his 396/402 and LOUD exhaust. I loved the look on his passenger's eyes when I downshifted at 70 mph into third and said bye-bye. It was over before it really started. I slowed back down but he wouldn't even pull up next to me. Poor Chebbie. :laugh:
Phil....do you ever look over at the other driver and wave "bye-bye" right as you romp it?!?! If not, try it sometime.....IT FEELS GREAT!:laugh:
Funny, a friend of mine had a guy in a gaudy painted road runner pull up to the first 64 Skylark I built right after high-school. Mr. RR did the bye-bye wave, then got a surprise when the 430 4-speed got downshifted and the old Poston 112 cam came up to RPM. :3gears: :laugh: Sure is fun to be downshifting at 70, isn't it Phil?
What REALLY makes the "other guy" feel good is when your Buick has a full load of friends with you all waving also!:Brow: Been there...done that!:grin: Isn't it hard to be humble when you drive a Buick??o No: :laugh:
I love winning with a fast car, just wish I had one that was all mine... I guess I'll have to start searching for kias and minivans.
