Dropped the tank to find a code sheet that I have found on some my previous Buicks. It does NOT belong to this car. The last 6 digits of this car’s VIN is 309108,but the sheet says 309111. The body number does not jive with the body number on the paper either,so I’m pretty sure this belongs to another car. This car probably came down the line the same day as the other. Date on paper is 5/12,and this car was built the 2nd week of May.
If anyone has car 309111,here’s your paper.

More treasure? What is this? Looks like a very old body shop order of some sort, stuffed in the dash.

    Nice,uncut headlight harness
Left gauge very early for this car,so it might have been replaced. 24-hour clock dated 105th day of 1970,which puts that right on par.
Green cable for the heat controls has the flange broke off at the heater end.

Might as well throw that front harness in w/my stuff if not spoken for.

Not spoken for. Do you need more than one or any other harnesses?

Not sure yet really. May/may not even need this one. Probably could use a nice rear (intermediate) harness but I also have a couple parts cars here.

I disassembled it yesterday. I will be restoring a total of 4 floor shift tilt columns within the next month. I believe I have all 4 spoken for,but I can add you to the list. My restored floor shift tilts are $625.00 WITH the shipping included. They can’t be done any better.

Is the column for a floor shift auto the same as a manual?

Yes. There is no such thing as a 4-speed specific column. The only difference is the switch at the bottom because the column is in a different clocking position to operate the reverse lights for automatic vs 4-speed. Other than that, the firewall plate has a hole in it for the clutch rod & boot, which is outlined on the foam seal.

I see. Thanks Brian. I assume that all of the ones that you have are for auto cars.
    No 4 speeds?

They are all floor shift,so they can be used for either one. You just install the correct switch at the bottom.

Ok, let me know if one gets as far as me.
    Are you painting them?

I normally just supply them in the correct shades of black. Semi-gloss for the lower section and satin black for the upper section. They all started out that way then got painted a different color when needed. I have a few of the correct colors that I had mixed locally.
