I wouldn't put too much stock in the mileage claim. Faded decals, hood tach different black, grille all black, grungy underneath.

You think that's all it will bring? Idk, seems kinda low with the miles and it being the rarer color

Sadly some non-Buick person may buy it thinking low miles then blow it up and say Buick motors no good......

71 overflow tank , unusual for a low mileage car .

That is the windshield washer reservoir that is a '71-'72 part. Replacement of the reservoir is generally a sign of a car being repaired after a front end collision.

The car also has had an ignition ballast resistor added at some point, along with a replacement master cylinder, voltage regulator, air cleaner seals, air conditioning compressor, ac hoses, and ac valve.

The grille has also either been replaced or, at a minimum, repainted incorrectly. I just noticed the grill is also missing a small piece.

In the trunk, the jack appears to be missing along with the spare tire board hold down nut.

All in all, it certainly doesn't seem to be a highly cared for 19,892 original mile car.

No, this washer jug mounted on the fender is correct for a '70 Buick A-body with the California emissions. You can see the emission canister in this photo. Buick moved the washer jug from the inner fender to the fender to make room for the emission canister. This car does have a correct, 3-nipple canister that was unique to the '70 model. The '71-up canisters only have two nipples.

That is a detail of which I was unaware. Thank you for educating me.

I stand corrected regarding the reservoir.

This only applies to '70 models sold in California, so this isn't seen often. Finding that 1-year-only canister isn't easy to find these days. One of the nipples was unused so Buick just capped it. Then in '71 Buick redesigned it to only have two nipples and that was used for many years.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

You mean your Delivered to California GS car. Just to be clear.

In a different thread about this car someone stated that the person who owns this car is the guy running the auction and that it's unlikely he will sell it. The theory was that he runs his own (high profile) cars in the auction to gain attention and buyers, but sets a super high reserve so they don't sell.

Also we know he just paid $140k for it at Barret Jackson.

Any Buick A-body that was sold in California would be equipped as shown by OHC Joe, regardless of the assembly plant. Most would be California built cars (Fremont, CA plant) but Flint also built cars that were sold in California because all '70 Stage 1 cars and all GSXs (including non-stage 1s) were all built at Flint.

Off-topic, but I will pose this question to help further my education. Did cars built in California have plastic cowl grilles instead of metal screen?

Disregard the question. I just realized this is a Stage 1 car and was therefore built in Flint.
