Yup, I owned it about 5 years ago. Bought it from Bruce Armstrong up in Mn and he had put a TON of NOS parts on the car in the 20 years or so he owned it. It's not had a frame-off but it is a VERY nice car. I had it painted by a perfectionist friend in Erie who owns his own body shop. I took a friend's original paint GSX up to him and told him to match the stripes and he did a perfect job. I'd highly recommend this car. How much are they asking?

I'm sure it has a nice price to go along with it, probably out of my range.

Does $5,000 sound a little steep for an original GSX steering wheel? :puzzled:

I think so, bc isn't it just a sport wheel, I may be wrong, but the last time I saw a real GSX that is what steering wheel it had.:Do No:

If they are saying the steering wheel is worth $5000, I'd hate to see what they want for the car.

The grip is a little thicker on a GSX.

Still does $5000 for the steering wheel sound a little funny.:Do No:

Sure does. I'd let my steering wheel go for $4500. :TU: :Brow:

Price on the car is $89,998 and they do have the paperwork to back up the car. I have not recieved or seen any pictures on the car but it sounds like a really nice car from the description.

Was at VOLO 7-1-7 for the Car show and to see Chuck Barris. This GSX is really nice. Alot of money but it is clean. Volo had quite a few GS's for sale in there showroom.

I'd let my NOS 70 GSX steering wheel go for 5K

GSX wheels are smaller in diameter and have a fatter grip with thumb notches.

What and where are these "Thumb Notches" on the GSX wheel? I want to look for them on mine.

Duane Heckman makes a great repo GSX steering wheel :beers2:

Oh one problem though....I have been waiting on one for a very VERY long time...says he is going to stop making them in the near future as they are a lot of work and his original mold is going down hill quick. but for 299.00 + your core it beats the heck out of 5k :Dou:

I am not following the thumb notch reference on the steering wheel. Are you speaking of the two very small molding tabs visible on the back of the wheel where the spokes meet the rim?

    Ryan,
The Steering Wheel mold is fine ( the spoiler mold is the one you are thinking of), but I am having a hard time getting decent cores. Plus we only do two runs of this type material a year.

I don't know about any finger grips on the 70 GSX wheels, but there are 2 mold marks on the back side. One is the injection port, and the other actually has the date code cast into it.

To be honest, for the last few years we have been casting both these "mold marks" into our wheels, so they are getting very hard to tell apart from the originals.

PS. Your wheel will be finished this weekend, and the prices are
    $299 with a core
    $399 without a core
