Does anyone happen to know if a correct replacement is made for the factory heater control valve that would have been on the '70 GS455? My assembly manual suggests that the part number would have been 1369561, and my GM parts catalog lists 1230573 as a replacement. Buick Farm lists part number 9774799 as a possible option, but the outlet of my original unit is not threaded like the one in the photo at their link. Perhaps this doesn't matter as far as fit and function are concerned. I just hope to avoid ordering a part that is not correctly vacuum-controlled. Their link is below. http://www.buickfarm.net/index.php?option=com_redshop&view=product&pid=6370&Itemid=3#
Thank you for the information. My factory parts catalog mentions 1231105 as well; however, it is listed there as being the unit used with manual (not sure if this refers to the transmission type or to the type of A/C control) and A/C. I'm not really sure what the difference would be, if any.

GM Parts Direct advises that part number 1231105 (heater control valve) has been discontinued by GM and is no longer available from them. I just received the information from one of their customer service agents this morning. FYI
Its Four Season part #74604. it replaces 1231105. $16 from Rock Auto or any auto parts store worth its salt
Thank you. I was able to cross-reference the 4-Seasons part number with one offered at a nearby AutoZone and get one ordered. It 's strange that, when they look up the specific car, the part is not available. Their cross-reference system must leave a lot to be desired. Duane - if you are still watching this thread, I sent you a PM about the rubber insulator ring. I am interested in buying one from you.
