They were, yes. That looks like a sharp ride. Tough to argue with all that documentation, too. That's in CJay's area as well. Perhaps he has some insight...
Very nice & great colors/documents. People can do what they want to their cars & I understand the allure of a hood tach but that'd be a deal killer for me if I was in the market for such a car. IMHO, adding the factory gauges/tach option would've been much better.
Neat car with nice colors, great documentation, and great list of options, especially the power windows. In my opinion power windows should be standard equipment on a convertible. I'm guessing that this car has marginal engine vacuum for the power brakes based on the additional vacuum hose routing that probably goes to a vacuum canister up front. I can also see an ignition box, aluminum intake, and it appears to have headers so it probably does "run super strong" as mentioned in the ad, despite the 2.93 highway gearing.
So what is worse than having a hole cut in the hood for a hood tach? Having it installed in the incorrect location. Strage that someone put it in the wrong spot which required much more effort since they had to also cut the inner structure of the hood. The factory location just requires a hole in the hood skin. I could live with the hood tach since the car has so many other positive qualities but would consider deleting it and installing factory gauges and an in-dash tach. Repairing the hood and blending the paint would be no fun but could be done.
Adds insult to injury, lol. Agree on the power windows! Is the 1st thing I look @ on a convertible. Bought mine basically sight unseen as a basket case & the lady couldn't remember if it had PW. Was the 1st thing I checked when I saw it. Not sure I'd be nearly as into the car if hadn't.
Looks sharp, I think a white top would pop it better with the matching interior, are the door panels correct / wonky? Could just be the shadows from the sun.
Some ting wong with the door panels and rear panels...maybe done by a local upholstery shop to try and match what was there? Neither Legendary or PUI look like that.
Not sure you can get a "Restored" Stage 1 for sure more bucks. I look for several years and couldn't find a Restored Stage 1 for less that $75K. GSJo offered to build me a Stage 1 for $80K in 2021, and you all know, be builds "Outstanding" Buicks. Unfortunately, my pockets are not deep enough for $80K. Vet
so for stock? 57k of wrong parts just under the hood aluminum intake headers hose clamps battery cable radiator cap heater hose with vise grip something red on pass fenderwell don't know how many of you have 57k of pocket change, i know not me. lucky to have 57 bucks
