Looking for a new or excellent original shifter boot for a 1970 GS 4 speed, non console application. Also the shifter boot ring. Thanks, Tom 815-675-3188
Tom, someobody was reproducing the boot at one time. I remember finding one about 2 years ago when we redid ours. You might check the major suppliers. Jeff
Metro did at one point. Try www.thepartsplaceinc.com if a repro will do. Tom I am going to look for your old B4B manifold this week end.
opg say the have the correct boot for non console 1968-1972. i have one on back order, its been back ordered for 6 months. they said they will be in in mid jan. i have found no other supplier, cars inc , parts place , years one , metrol (metrol did at one time and no longer does), poston that list this part. i let you know if one shows up and how the quality is.
Thanks Steve. Please post picture if you ever get it. I was on back order with OPG for 10 months and have given up. Called Metro and they had 2 in stock...but when they arrived they are for a console car!! Tom
Tom- I am in the same boat. Let me know if you want to sell one of those console boots. Car came w/o console but I may throw one in. Steve, I would also like to see some pics when it arrives :TU:
Still have them as I may also add console. But would be willing to trade these 2 for a single non console boot in excellent condition. Anyone??? Tom 815-675-3188
Shifter boot Does anybody have a GM OEM part #. I have a NOS shifter boot here with a # of 3842926. It shows for a 65-67 buick A body. I didn't know if this was the same part # for the 70's. View attachment 85831 [/ATTACH]
nos shifter boot Tom, Is this what your looking for ? Gary / Moz http://cgi.ebay.com/68-72-NOVA-67-69-CAMARO-SHIFT-BOOT-4-SP-NOS-GM_W0QQitemZ180071736358QQihZ008QQcategoryZ34206QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Not sure I was first in line on this . (I deleted my post because of info that it will not fit the consolette sorry) If this work with the consolette in my 70 . I am not worried about the square opening around the shifter as long as it fits the consolette .
John, from what I am reading, Tom will trade the 2 for a non-console boot (very wise of you, Tom as there are a FEW of us looking for the non-consolette boots :ball: :ball: ). Otherwise, they are not for sale? Tom, that sound right?
John, That is a lower boot for an early car with a console and would not be correct for your application. (Pic with the round hole) The lower boots for the 68-72 cars with consoles are reproduced. I think Poston and others sell them. You should leave this for one of the guys that needs one. Duane
Will do Duane . I was hoping that you or someone else knowledgeable straightend us out . I am out and someone thats got a early car jump in these must be hard to find . John
Are the shifter boots for the Chevelles the same as for the Buicks ? When I log onto Year One looking for 64 - 72 Chevelle Parts and in the interior section they have a "Shifter boot for 1968-1972 Chevelle and 1970-1972 Monte Carlo models without a console". Is this what it looks like ? It is part # 3118N. There is also a part # DL751. The reason I mention it is that their boot and retainer for the 64 - 65 Chevelle is exactly the same as in my 65 GS. Hope this helps.
