I've converted my 1970 GS from an automatic to a 4 speed. I used Dave Kliener's parts for the conversion along with a template from an original 4 speed car to mark the area in the floor to cut the hole in the floor for the shifter...so I believe the hole is now in the factory location. I am now in the process mounting the consolette and have found that the lower boot and ring are slightly visible with the consolette in place. Should this be?

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

There is a upper and lower boot ring what you see is the upper and it is chrome. Lower ring is under the boot.

If you look at the consolette from a "floormat's eye view" so to speak, yes the silver boot ring that attaches the lower boot to the floor is visible.
