Appears to be a decently solid car, though I'd have to look it over in person if I were interested. There's probably a reason why there are so few body pictures. Based on the condition of the engine bay, the thing sat outside. Possibly with the hood at least partially open. If anybody is interested I can go take a look. That's not that far from me.
It would be well worth saving, and it looks like it's been sitting for a long time. It has a load of good options, A/C, power windows, and those idiotic vacuum operated power locks. That's what probably parked that car, a bad vacuum leak. I remember the A/C controls on those cars was fairly complex, it relied heavily on vacuum, so if the line to the trunk or the door locks switches failed, the whole thing would run like a toilet and his, and the A/C wouldn't work.
Hmmmmmm. I pulled the electric power locks from a '70 Estate Wagon some years ago ... and vacuum power locks from a '69 Olds 442. I am thinking '70 was the transition year.
That could well be...I don't have the 70 service manual, but I had a 69 Wildcat that had the 1970 interior in it, and it had the vacuum locks. Not sure if they were in there from factory or if they were installed at the same time the interior was, I bought that car as an unfinished project.
Well, I guess that answers that then! So they are electric for 1970, a definite improvement over the previous year.
Awesome! Give us a full tour once you get her settled. It looks better on your trailer than it did in the "for sale" pictures.
She will need some engine work as appears to have seized from the moisture in the air there. Started tearing it down tonight. Found protecto plate in glove box. She has a posi rear, something I like. Has single exhaust which I will coinvert to dual. I have a recently rebuilt 455 with ta 310 cam and b4b intake I can use in mean time. Have a 67 switch pitch 400 I may use also as want to keep all the number original stuff aside as car only original once.
Just light scale from what we see. We are putting her on the lift next week and giving a thorough once over.
