This car has been discussed here many times. The POP says it is not a stage 1. The current owners dispute that saying their paperwork says it is. We have asked him to do something so simple as post a pic of the trans tag for review. He refuses to do that. It is currently on Ebay once again and the pic of the POP shows the engine is a SR and the trans a BA.

Although it was restored some things on the front end are from another model year. He says it has original sheet metal but the the rad top plate appears to be a post 70 model. For sure the hood is from a 71 or 72 car. The radiator looks like it is from a 72 model.

If there is a POP error he could lift the cloud by showing the trans tag.

I would also look at this car in person. You can see that the hood is incorrectly painted.

And it is a Georgia Car, hasn't it been listed in other States and thru a church as well?? Can remember the details , but I was told to be careful with Georgia cars, titles, etc.

It's the same "church" that has been trying to sell it all along. They're purposely vague. They know there are issues with their claims that they refuse to acknowledge. It must be a religion that doesn't beleive in honesty and integrity.

I always noticed the Greensboro front license plate since I am from NC, must be where the car originated from or something.

Re: Jims comment that it definitely has a '71 or '72 hood, What are the differences between the '70 and '71/'72 hoods? I thought they were all the same.

A 70 GS hood does not have the release spring or its mount whereas a 71 and 72 do. Since the radiator is maybe a 72 somewhere in its past the car could have been hit in the front. This is one of many possible explanations for the change but for sure it does not have its original sheet metal and for whatever reason the owners will not provide a pic of the trans tag.

JIm the proof is in the fact that the POP says SR and I imagine since the info sought is not provided it is a 455 GS and still desireable but not a Stage 1. I imagine everyone with a GS 455 would like to be able to get Stage 1 money from their cars.
