    *SOLD*

First off - I am asking $2500 for this motor - stop reading here if this is too rich for your blood.

I have a 455 out of a 1970 LeSabre for sale. I originally picked this engine up for use in project that I had that has now gone by the way side. I thought I might keep this engine and use it in something else, but I have decided to just go ahead and sell it. I have over a grand just in the machine work alone - this is a very nice 455. Here's the specs:

Block cleaned, checked, new cam bearings, brass freeze plugs, bored .030" over (sleeve in #7) and decked to .004".
EDIT: I decided to sleeve #7 because I did not want to bore the block to .060, it would not clean up on .030, so we sleeved it.

Crank is .010-.010, heavy duty aftermarket flex plate included.

    Rods were re-sized

TRW forged pistons, dish type. @ 10.8:1 compression with current deck height.

    Rotating assembly has been balanced.

    Camshaft by Howard's p/n 550441-10

    Cloyes double roller timing chain

    Rhoads lifters

Cylinder heads are casting # 1238148, they have been re-surfaced, cleaned, valve job and new seals. These are very nice heads. They have stock springs on them right now. I have already mocked them up on the block to check the piston to valve clearance because of the .520 lift the cam has - the pistons are not relieved, however it does have right at .100" of clearance so it should not be an issue.

I have two sets of rockers for this engine - the originals, which are the cast aluminum "bathtub" style (1970 only) and I also have a nice set of later model stamped steel rockers. I was planning to use the steelies - both sets are clean and have new buttons installed.

The timing cover is "ok", but I was going to buy a new one. It does have some damaged bolt holes for the water pump mount, however they are repairable. Right now its clean and ready for repair. I do not have any new oil pump parts, just the original parts.

I have all the original sheetmetal for this engine as well as most of the accessories, including the exhaust manifolds and the starter and a new gasket set. I do not have an intake for it. It will also need a set of adjustable pushrods, which I do not have.

Finished properly, this engine should easily make 500+ hp, naturally aspirated.

Only the short block is assembled, the heads are also assembled but they are not installed. The engine is located in Bremond, TX. I am asking $2500, which I think is a steel for this engine. I am willing to negotiate delivery or possibly meeting someone half way - you buy my gas.

I also may accept trades or partial trades. I am currently looking to build a t-bucket type roadster, so anything related to that would be interesting to me. No junk.
