OK fellas,. this is the motor I put together for my son's 70' skylark in 2013, I don't think we have put 800 miles since the build, 79,xxx org.miles on motor and car right now... He got real involved into his 2 trucks, 1 being a 05'duramax truck.,.. Lifted, making it fast,.. etc.. --- I did have some threads on the build and video's some where on this board... ----- For Sale.... 1970 buick 350 motor... ----- Still in car and can hear it run... and drive...!! *Short blk... stock bottom end, blk. cleaned and painted ready for heads.. T/A Oil regulator setup in timing cover to increase oil pressure.. ** Oil pan... custom 6 qt. Kenne-Bell pan,.. that are hard to find...!! *Heads... 1969 heads big valve 1.92 intakes and std exh.valve's,. very well ported heads,.. over $ 700 dollars worth of head work .. back in the day.. The heads are milled at least .030 or more, bought these heads from a guy that had the 310 came kit,.. can't remember all the info... but,. they look very nice.. inside!! flow very well.. !! * Compression approx. 9.2-1 to 9.5-1,.. did not CC the heads.. *** New-- 1.55 stock rockers... *Cam... t/a 310 cam, installed on a 106 intake c/l and t/a double roller timing chain... with t/a custom 5/16 pushrods.. $168.00 ouch!! *Intake... t/a intake port matched using a 750 dp-proform carb well tuned.. with 1" 4 hole spacer.. *Headers... Hooker 1-3/4 blowing through 2 1/2 exh. and 15" flow master bullets,.. sounds wicked,. great idle.. *Distributor... HEI, takin' apart welded up mech. hole for 10* mech, using a msd pickup and its light spring curved... set at 34* total.. its snappy...!!! No, we used a ET, mph, and weight of car and driver at the track.. With the formula it was 308hp or318 at the rear wheels, and you usually lose75hp through the drive line, which gives approximate 375hp at the fly wheel... I think it is actually a little bit more hp...
Thanks,. hated to see it go,... my son said bitter sweet,.. As soon as I started the car up, those two guy's eyes lit up with smile's, they couldn't believe the idle that 310 cam put out,. Then I rapped the throttle with no hesitation it snapped with crispness and they just shook their heads and said i like it.... LOL... But theres more,.. I said, I'll show how you well it runs,.. " their watching" ... I roll up the road and get the fluids warm , turn around , come up the road and stop just down from our house,.. " my son knows whats coming next" with a smile.... Eyes glued on me,.. I load the converter some and tap into the half throttle rolling it out like a pulling tractor,.. already boiling the tires and then pedal to the metal,.. "this is not a brake torque job happening", this little motor will lite the tires up rolling"..LOL It hits the rev limiter for a second , I cram second gear going by my house for the first 80 feet floating the car sideways,. cram 3rd for a few seconds more smoking the tires pass a 100 feet and get out of it,.. Im coming up to a stop sign,.. LOL.. I turn the car around pull into the driveway ,.. They are both laughing at each other like two little girls,.." their both in their late 40's"... The one guy say's pay the guy , we have nothing else to say,... Me and my son are laughing, when the one guy that has built some motors himself say's ,.. that motor sounds like a high winding 302 ford motor,.. " pause"..and that is what I've always said about this motor,.. Me laughing,... We pulled the motor out in 2 1/2 hours and $1700.00 later, we put it in back of their truck,.. and they left smiling,. thanking us for the entertainment...!! ps.. 3 hour ride home for them.. Still,... Bitter - Sweet... good motor!!! Now making way for a 800 hp,. LS 6.0 turbo motor,.. "motor already bought" so its my son's car.. ***If this what keeps a 21 year old young man interested in old cars ,.. then Im fine with it,.. I'll be right their helping him....
