Hi. I'm have a set of boxed rear lower control arms and a factory rear sway bar that I'm installing on my 1971 GS. My questions involves the sway bar mounting to the lower control arms. I'm thinking "originality" here: When the sway bar is bolted to the inner side of the control arms, which side does the bolt head wind up on (the control arm or the sway bar)? Also, is a regular fine thread nut used on the bolt (or a low profile nut)? Are any flat washers used under the bolt head or under the nut? And finally, is a lock washer used under the nut? Thanks much for any help! John

Thanks for the fast reply and the help, Wildcat55. Do you know if any flat washers and/or lock washers are used on the sway bar mounting bolts? Best, John

Yep, just put one on one of my cars. The nuts are the crimped type of lock nuts. I was missing one and it is a 5/8 bolt and 5/8 nylock nut. I did use a flat washer on the nut side just because.
