    Hi all, Been pondering on replacing my 1969 dash cluster with a later 1970-72 unit. They "appear" to have the same overall dimensions on the insert into the dash. Would like something a little different that I can use an electronic speedo in.

    A long time ago (80's) saw a '69 GS350 with a Chevelle dash insert. had the speedo, roller tach, and clock in it and all functional. What I don't know is if they pulled the entire dash assembly to make that work. Would appear that the 1968 - 1972 Skylark platform should interchange.

    Thanks,

    Jimmy

    If I remember correctly, and someone should check this;

    You can put the entire 70-72 dash assembly in a 68-69 car… but there are a few issues.

    1. I am pretty sure you also need to use a 70-72 dash pad, and
    2. If you have vent windows in the doors, then you need to find a 70-72 dash pad without the vent on the passenger side. (Not sure about AC cars)

    Here's w/the '68-9 pad. @GS44667 said it fit perfectly.
