Is there any source for a clutch start switch, part number 1993485, for our 1970-72 Skylark GS cars with manual transmissions? Thanks. -mike
I have good news! I was able to easily clean the contacts inside of the switch and now it works great. First, remove the switch. Pry open the three retainers holding it together to get access to the contacts. You'll see two posts in the cap, attached to the flat blade connectors to which the wiring harness attaches. Clean these until they are shiny copper. Inside the switch is a copper ring contact and a spring that holds this ring against the cap. Clean the ring until it is shiny copper. Apply a little white lithium grease inside the cap, wipe the contacts clean, and reassemble. -mike
