I am going to sell one of the two cars I have, and whichever sells first will determine which one I keep. I purchased this car, as you all know, a few months back and just to re-cap, here is the description... 1969 GS Stage 1 Hardtop, factory 4-speed, every single, solitary number matches (engine, transmission, carb, distributor, choke, EVERYTHING). It is an untouched original car. One owner, a lady from Arkansas, bought it new and I have the original window sticker and interior build sheet (I have not yet searched for the body build sheet, probably still under the tank). It has never been touched and still wears 100% of it's original paint. It is Signal Red with a black vinyl top and black bucket-seat interior. This is a nice car, that needs a cosmetic restoration due to age. There is rust under the vinyl top, but otherwise, the car is very nice with not one spot of rust on floors, quarters, doors, hood or otherwise. There is one small spot on the lower passenger-side fender. This is a very rare car, with factory air-conditioning. Hosted on Fotki I will sell it for the best respectable offer. I had the opportunity to purchase back my 1972 Road Runner GTX 4-speed car at the Mopar Nationals, and I did. I knew that I could not keep both cars, so basically am putting them both up for sale and whichever sells first will determine which one I keep. We are deep into a frame-off restoration of another '69 GS that I am doing with a business partner, but one of my personal cars must go. Please call me with any questions. The best way to reach me is by phone, at 614-893-3857. My grandfather just passed away so I am busy with family but can be reached by phone any time. I will start it off at $19,500 but am willing to listen and entertain any offers within reason. If you want the most desirable '69 hardtop there is, this is the one. Thanks, Mike
I think I just drooled on my keyboard:Comp: Asking price on the GS?? I'd have to sell the 87 "T" first, I'm sure yours will be long gone by then. Unless you'd like this in your garage:Brow: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=187080 And if you'd like to post more pictures, please do so. Rich
Thanks George. I was just double checking myself for the 69 model year. If anybody knows,I guess it would be you...I'd love to have the car. I probably ought to start clearing out the projects and buy 1 decent car:spank:
Spoke with Mike (the seller of the car) several times. Seems like a nice, very well documented Buick with an excellent color combo. :beers2:
For those who have called and were going to come look at it...sorry, the car is sold. It is going to a great home and it will get the restoration it deserves. I was able to purchase another car that I have searched for a long time for, and it is a turn-key, low mileage car, a 1970 Rebel Machine 4-speed that's all correct and original (restored, but original everything), not a Buick...but in true form to what I love, a real oddity. I know my '69 Stage car is going to be very happy in it's new home and you guys will see it in the future, I am sure of it.
Very cool car Mike. I had the AMC bug for a while as well. Had a '68 Rebel SST convertible. One of 823 made and AMC's last convertible. Also had a '68 AMX 390 Go Pack car and a '70 AMX. Almost had a Machine, but it got sold out from under me.
Well, Donny and George, great minds do think alike :TU: There's a reason why we like AMC's and Buicks...I used to like Mopars because they were the "underdogs". Over the past 20 years, things sure have changed. Mopars are kind of like Harley's. Used to be the "1%'ers"...now it's more like the "49%'ers"...with the other 49% driving Chevys. I'll take my 1%'er Buicks or AMCs any day!
Mike, that one sounds better than the one that you bought at the auction that one time, lol. There is a guy out here has several original and low mile AMX's and AMC's.
Chris, YES! way better. The convertible is coming along quite nicely...here's a link to all of the updated pics: http://public.fotki.com/E86A38/1969-buick-gs-stage-2/ ...and here's a little teaser:
