I 69 wasn't the 400 the largest motor you could get in the 442? In fact all GM intermediates had the 400 ci limit, wasn't till 70 did GM lift the limit. gary
He does state period correct 455 so depending on what you call a period he seems right in line with what cars bring these days. If it were matching numbers and a fully restored frame off I think it would be much more $$
The Hurst/Olds did come with a 455 as did Toronados. The W-30 cars and regular 442's had 400s in them. This has the correct stick or sans serif F casting on the block for a '69 455. Not sure if it was out of a H/O or a Toronado?? Intake appears to be a 1970 Olds 442, 455 iron intake. Stamped L 404521.
I don't have enough posts to link more pics and videos, so e-mail me and I'll send them. Even if you don't want to buy, just see a cool car. Jeff
But they were not factory installed...Hurst did the installation. The motors were new Olds big-car crate motors, painted red I believe.
Got under the car and got the casting off the 4 speed: Muncie 4-speed - 39Z132212 3 = Oldsmobile 9 = 1969 Z = Fremont, CA 132212 = Matches last 6 digits in the VIN So, it is the original 4 Speed from the factory.
...YES the. 455 were FACTORY INSTALLED....They just LIED and said that DEMMER installed them......Kinda makes these H/O cars like a OUTLAW/COPO kinda car...!!lol..
if you havent already, you should advertise this car on www.classicoldsmobile.com it is on 442.com,right?
Yes, it is on 442.com. I have tried to register multiple times on ClassicOldsmobile and after I reply to the e-mail they send, nothing happens. Tried again today. Jeff
I have tried that too, many timesou: First I think if I do something wrong.... I'm still out of the forum:af: But we are lucky, here in V8-forum, I was in after first register:TU: By the way, you have nice looking olds.
