    Hey,

    My car is a squat'er!

I wish I could just lower the front of my car, but any lower and my headers will cry for mercy. (Currently my floor jack needs to be shoved under the cross member to jack my car up) My springs must be weak?

What is the best way to raise the rear of my car? Would new springs bring me back to level? (I dont want air shocks) Or,.. are the spacer I have seen a better option?

My suspension is original except for shocks...at least as far as I can tell.
    (front and rear sway bars)

    Thanks,

    James

Yes-- springs set the ride height.

A lot of these cars rode lower than we are typically used to seeing. Are you sure it rides low? Check the factory ride height specifications before concluding that you are low.

Airbags in the rear springs can boost you up, and can be adjusted to improve traction (must be adjusted separately).

    Measurements for your GS400

    1) Front wheel well (Center line with front axel) 26.47"
    2) Rocker Panel (Behind Ft quarter) 9.59"
    3) Rocker Panel (In front of rear wheel) 9.29
    4) Rear Wheel (Center line with rear axel) 20.15"

Note Dimensions given do not include moldings.

GS 400 sat a bit lower than a regular lark or GS 350. They list a curb height and a height with 4 passengers. Listed is the curb height.:bglasses:

I dont know if it is any lower than stock in the rear? I will check the dimensions given.

But, I do know that I dont like how it is sitting. (I would prefer it near level) Air bag may be a good option.....

I bought from Summit the Air-Lift 1000 Load Assist bags for my 69 convertible and i can adjust them any time i want at any height I want with an air hose ...just like filling up a tire. They are great and the ride feels just the same as it always has to me. I have used air shocks in the past and i agree...they are too harsh.
The Air Lift Bags sell for as i remember for $79.95 and they are red but you cant see them following in another car. They advertise them to be black but I found out that that was a misprint after I called them and said that they sent me red ones. I wanted black but after installing the red ones you just plain can't see them and thats good in my opinion.
