My buddy is looking for a 1969 chevelle ss 396-325 hp auto carb 7029200 anyone have a old pile of cores thx
I actually know Ken does had a 69 core , but I think it's a 350/300 unit. He can hook you up, one way or another.
Here is the Rochester Q-jet numbers Rochester Quadrajet Part Numbers 1965-1974 and Trucks to 1979 - Hemmings Motor News 1969 corvette carb that was a good motor
You will find a LOT of 7029207's out there as they were also sold as Service Replacement carburetors. The big difference is that the Service Replacement 7029207's will have a later Julian date than the model year, and most will not have a Plant Code after the part number......Cliff
Unfortunately like anything else, even the chevy qjets are scarce and demanding more money. $350-$750 on ebay right now.
The 7029207 Service Replacement cores show up on Ebay quite often. They can typically be had for around $125-200. Folks asking a LOT more than that simply don't know that they are Service carbs and not original dated units with the Plant Code and Julian date correct for the 1969 350/350HP 4 speed applications. Right now on Ebay there are at least half a dozen 7029207 SR carbs for less than $250.......
