Heck, that front bumper alone, is likely worth that.
If it was closer, I'd snag it. :(

I was interested a week ago but at the time he wouldn't give me a price for all and wouldn't ship parts I was interested in. Now he sold the Grill and not sure what else. For me it's not worth the road trip. For a local it makes sense. I had asked on the board for an assist but didn't find anyone local. Hope someone can get the goodies before it gets scrapped.

So, was the "$800" for the car not a true price?

Folks that post a price, and when someone shows a desire to purchase, and the person turns into "Bob Barker".

TrunkMonkey is not going to, "COME ON DOWWWWWNNNNNN!!!!"

I will go the distance and pay a little more for a straight up, honest person.

But I will not suffer a BS artist.

I never saw a price posted other than $1234. he was parting it out. His individual parts prices I asked about were fair, but he wouldn't ship because he was screwed before. So then I asked about entire car and a price, he never got back to me. When I reached back this week, he messaged me the $800 price but mentioned the grill and other parts were sold. Still a fair price if you need a parts car and are local.

I messaged that I was interested in the front, (and maybe the rear bumper). That I would pay pick up ticket shipping (for both) based on images and his word on the actual condition. (with cash ready to seal a deal by this day 1/12/2024)
All he need do was wrap in bubble and cardboard, (and I would pay for shipping and on top of a fair price of the bumpers, his determination for labor for said, bumper(s) prep.)

Removing the bumpers, (after pics and description), wrapping and then letting me know it is done, I would pay for the parts and labor on his end, and schedule pickup, (working with him and his schedule).

Reply within seconds, he was not shipping.

I'll not waste anyone's time, ever. Just work with me as I am willing to work with you. Buying or selling, let's talk, and find if we can make a deal, then, no BS, make it happen, quickly and without drama. (I'm and old boomer and don't know how else to deal wit folks...)

There is no game being played here. You asked him to ship, he said no. He didn't waste your time. By your own account he replied within seconds that he wasn't shipping. Thats about as straight forward as it gets....

I said life was too short for me to waste another's time. I did not say he wasted my time.
That remark followed the previous line. And I didn't say he was playing games.

I was only posting my interaction in case anyone else thought if asking him to ship anything.

    edited to add.

The post I made before I had any contact was the $800 in the title of the add, and then Buicksky stating he could not get a price for "everything". And I took that to mean, it was listed for $800, but that was not the true price.

The remark was a generic tongue in cheek sarcasm of those that use a low price in an add, then actually want more when you contact them. I can see how that colored my second post.

$1 adds are obvious that it is simply a listing method for those searching by price to get near the top of search results. But I have had times where a price that looked good or reasonable (for example, a parts car) and then be told. "it's worth more than that, but I didn't think anyone would call since it's not running". And actual conversation I have had a few times.
