Roberta, Thanks, I have a very nice used one...took me 7 years to find it, I have not installed it on the 68 yet and was thinking of selling it since the 68 is for sale and I could use the money.
Kurt, I would venture to say Roberta is on the low side of what it "might" bring if you went to ebay. I know of several guys that have been looking for one. Don't know what they are willing to pay though. I wouldn't mind having one, but it's not much of a priority for me to ever get one.
David, I still havn't decided yet what I'm going to do with it, I'd like to sell it to someone that really needs it, I know I paid almost $90 for it several years ago. It's mostly a moral dilemma, eBay would probably bring the most $$ and I know I could use the money but then I hate the thought of just "being in it for the money" you know what I mean?
Yeah, I know what you mean Kurt. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as someone that "really needs it" though. I think it's more of a "really want it" deal for most, since it seems almost NONE of our 68/69 cars came with one in the first place. I would bet everyone wanting it will have to drill mounting holes 'cause their car never came with it. My advice??? Either go to ebay, or give someone a good deal on it that you know well, that wants one. I'm in a similar situation with an extremely rare 68/69 NOS part. I paid a lot for it, but now will not be needing it. After much consideration, I've offered it free to someone who needs to do a resto of their 68. If it turns out he doesn't need it, I may turn to other 68 guys here and offer them a deal on it privately, or I may go to ebay. I could sure use the money to put towards the 455 project.
