Hi new on her I live in Ontario Canada. Looking to restore my riviera can anyone refer me to a body man who specialize in classics
Unfortunately nearly every body shop will make collision and ins work a priority. Hence the term " Body shop Jail" If you go to a place that does only classic restorations its gonna cost a bundle and still be tied up for a yr. My advice would be to check into the local high school Vo-Tech program. I've had a car done by the students under the instructors supervision and it turned out great in a reasonable time frame.
Hi thanks for the warm welcome and info. Keep me posted on any other suggestions and maybe some advise of procedures for someone new to this!!!
Hi I wish I lived south south of the border look like there are a lot of places to get my car done!!!
Welcome from Wasaga Beach, Ontario. Where you located? I got a 69 Riv. There's a few body guys 10 minfrom me and they do classic cars. I can't speak of their work personally as I haven't used them (yet) but from what I've heard they're pretty good. And just a response to Briz unfortunately up here the education board have cut waaayy back on, or cut out completely the automotive courses in the highschools so that option is pretty much non existent unfortunately .
I did mine in stages over the course of a few years. Then did the engine the next yr and the int. a few years later. After that started re doing stuff
I know those two cars, there 5 minutes from my house. I looked at both of them just before covid hit. You bought it from a guy named Sean. Here's the pics I took of both
Most "regular" body shops don't want anything at all to do with a total repaint of a classic car(at least around here). Too much time and effort. They can make a lot more money doing dent repairs on Toyota's and Honda's and have them in and out in a week...
