I finally got rid of the factory AC. The unknowns exceeded the knowns. Before I decided to get a Vintage Air system, I had to purchase a NOS GM switch. Don't remember the part number but it was factory. I only used it for a couple years. But, the high speed blower was run through a relay to keep the switch from overheating and getting ruined. I paid $125 for it from a guy in Canada. I also saved the whole factory system just in case. I bought a second instrument panel for the AC control bezel, levers, all the little pieces. I'm not in love with i the factory stuff because it isn't that special. But the switch is rare as hen's teeth. I tried taking other GM switches of similar vintage using whatever was available to duplicate it. I finally gave up and paid the piper. My hope is to recoup a good portion of the initial cost. It;s a rare thing in MY life when I'm actually in posessioni of anything rare. ( Except my Skyhawk ) Make me an offer I can't refuse.
