Well, been working on this car for the past couple of months. It's a 1967 Buick GS400 Post.

I purchased it as a roller. Just had the transmission in it.

    Dropped in a rebuilt 430
Edelbrock intake topped with a Sniper Efi unit and fed with a stealth aeromotive tank.
Breathes out Kenne Bell headers and dual exhaust that Dumps at the axle

Has a 74 TH400 case with switch pitch internals.

12 Bolt rear, I think it's an early 64 narrow 12 bolt with 3.73 gears.

Has buckets with a center console with tach.

Car appears to have factory disc brakes as well.

Original color was Ivory with yellow interior and black top.

I bought it in a funky teal color with black buckets. Only the door panels and headliner are the original yellow/ white interior.

I added my set of custom offset 15x7 and 15x8 rallies. The rear was able to fit a 275 tire with no running. I think the backspacing is 5.5.

I'm planning on using it as a daily for a while. Adding a vintage air unit as soon as I get it back from paint.

I'll just update this thread randomly as it progresses.

Also had the front Bumper rechromed. Came out great. Still need to clean the rear. Also need to clean and paint the badges.

The grill as well but it's in excellent shape.

It is starting to look real good. I am glad you swapped the ugly wheels out. I had been chatting with you about the wheels on Facebook in the past. The Flat black looks decent too. Keep us posted on the progress.

I ended up cleaning up the headlamp bezels. Re-shot the black parts of it only since the silver was still looking nice.

Also did the rear trunk piece. After research, loons like some had the chrome ribs but GS usually had the blacked out trim. Still need to paint the GS emblems and shine the chrome up

Touched up the GS badge. Used a dropper to flood with paint. Then also tried a brush. Both work well. Just use some acetone after to wipe off the excess paint on the chrome part.

    Used Testors 1103

    Red rouge

Looks fantastic Jose. You have really transformed that car. Change of color and back to Buick Rally wheels is the way to go. Love that color too. Thanks for sharing.

Jose, really great project vision. I like love the color. A post 400, I believe that to be rare. Thanks for bringing her back to life! I'm enjoying your attention to detail.

    Thanks everyone!

It's hard getting everything right, especially on a budget. I do have a set of 400-430 valve covers that I am going to restore and throw on the engine.

Unfortunately I can't afford to cough up the $ for the orginal "star wars" air cleaner so this will work for the time being.

It's supposed to be a pretty rare GS for being a post.

"Here are is some production information:
    1,014 GS400 sedan made in 1967
    730 had the automatic transmission
224 had the long console (109 of those were built at Flint like your car)
313 had tinted glass (124 of those were built at Flint)
347 had the exterior moldings (184 were built at Flint)
38 had the yellow bucket seat interior (21 of those were built at Flint) yellow was the rarest interior color in the sedan for '67
257 had a black vinyl top (139 of those were built at Flint)

So it's a pretty rare car. Enjoy."

I am making a couple of changes due to being on a budget but everything reversible in case I want to go or can afford to do a complete restoration.

Just an example, I don't know why these high beams caught my eye, I've had them on my shelf for a while so I decided to see how they look on the GS. I also installed an H4 bulb glass housing with some LED headlights. Since it's going to be a daily I'd rather be able to see at night. Im also going to retrofit some Digi-Tail LED panel tail lights so people can see me braking and not rear end me. I'll post up pictures of those as well when it comes to modifying them to fit .

I have a new steering wheel from forever sharp. Haha yes, that wheel had to go, it had that sticky feel anyways.

I got the front end back together.

Broke an adjustment screw, ordered some, hopefully in by tomorrow.

Having a hard time making sure the driver side of the bumper tucks in. Looks like it is bent a bit out of shape. Might have been during the chrome process.

They do flex some. try using a board and pad, jacking up with that side of bumper loose. once it's where you want it tighten it up and see where it end up.

    Looking good!
