    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

This is not my car, if you have a question for the seller you can post it in the comments at the bottom of the auction ad: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-buick-gs400-convertible-5/

A '67 GS400 convertible is among my favorite cars so I'll add my two cents about this one.

This one is an older restoration and has been floating around for many years. It sold at Barrett Jackson in 2009 for $53k (https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1967-BUICK-SKYLARK-GS-CONVERTIBLE-75334), then again in 2016 for $35k (https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1967-BUICK-SKYLARK-GS-CONVERTIBLE-195662).

It's the earliest GS400 convertible I've seen from the Fremont plant. It has the lower front fender trim since it was an early car and has a A.I.R. system (smog pump) because it was sold new in California. It has the original window sticker and Protect-O-Plate that document the car.

Interesting item about the documentation for this car is that it doesn't have a dealer name on the window sticker. It does however have 24-003 which shows that it was sent to zone 24 (California) and a Buick office (003). It was later sold at a dealer, 24-213 San Pedro Motors, on 10/3/67 almost a full year after the car was built (4th week October 1966). So that Buick office must have enjoyed the car. Maybe an executive used it?

2,140 GS400 convertibles were produced in 1967, 157 were built at the Fremont plant.
266 GS400 convertibles had the red bucket seat interior, 28 of those from the Fremont plant.

Rare AIR injection! I had a 66 wildcat with it completely intact and operating. Cool stuff.

I like it, especially the white top and red interior. Seems like a fair price.

10D had to be in 1966 and the car was sold a year later. Perhaps it was used as a demo by the dealers wife or something like that. I'm curious as to why this is considered to be an early build seeing it was built a few months into the model year already? Doesn't production start in like Aug/Sep?
    Nice car BTW!

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

It's not a concours restoration and it's showing some age due to being an older restoration but he's not trying to say it's perfect so no one can knock the seller for anything.

Overall its configured correctly and it's a good looking car with no obvious red flags. Under the hood all of the components appear to be the right parts except for small items like the voltage regulator cover, a reproduction brake booster, incorrect check valve, incorrect master cylinder, a missing the hood insulation retaining strip. The remaining items under the hood issues are just age/wear and some incorrect colors and plating. There are some other very minor items like wrong size tires (it has G70 but should have F70), trunk trim painted incorrectly, etc but those are all just minor items.

It’s an auction with a reserve and I suspect the reserve is much higher than the current bid of $27k.

I'm slipping! You are correct Nick ,the car was built in October '66 and was nearly a year old when it was finally sold to the first owner October 3rd, 1967. I've gone back to my previous post and corrected my misunderstanding on the dates. Thanks.
The earliest '67 GS I've seen from any of the four plants was built at the Baltimore plant in early September '66 (09A) and the body number on the cowl tag is 6. So this car has a 10D date which would be about 8 weeks into production and it has a body number of 00038. I don't think I've seen a '67 GS400 built after October '66 with the 4-piece wheel opening trim.

The cylinder head in this photo it is definitely a ‘67 model since they are the only ones produced without the machined section on the center exhaust ports and also have the provisions for the A.I.R. system to attach (‘67 only). There were two casting numbers used for the ‘67 heads with the A.I.R. provisions, 1372963 and 1382985.

Here is a ‘67 model head, #1382985 that hasn’t been drilled. I got this one off a wrecked ‘67 about 30 years ago.

Not trying to be petty here, it's a beautiful car, but the misplaced "GS 400" emblems on the door panels are a nit for me. The stuff that Gary mentioned are nits that really don't bug me as much as misplaced badges.

Rick I still think you are pulling our legs because I would estimate that you have 14 pairs of these heads in your garage right now. :)

I’ll give $20 just to take a tour of your ‘67 parts stash!
