Back in the early eighties, I tried to purchased a blank SSSO form at a swap meet. The seller got very nervous. Apparently, he didn't realize it got put out on the tarp with some other car literature and refused to sell it. To this day, it was the only time I'd ever seen a real SSSO form.

Wasn't the Spector an option before it became its own model?

Then there was the Secret Internal Super Special Yellowsheet forms that were used as the build sheets. Often referred to as SISSYS by the factory workers who were tasked with building the actual vehicles spec'd on them.

If it is a real X Spector 8 ? We can't let it slip through our hands.

I asked earlier if it was Ronnie Spector. At least that's what Ronnie says.............

Not surprised that fella got all nervous about the "escaped" SSSO form. The fact that these cars ever saw the light of day in the domestic market is incredible in itself. If the footnotes in the '66 assembly manual are to believed, only 200 of these cars were only assembled for homologation in the Esso Baltic Hillclimb series, branded as Vauxhalls. But through some mix up at the South Bend plant, they got loaded on trailers and sent out to each one of the zones as "Brass Hat" cars...... the rest is history.

These cars were even more secret. Kind of 'under the table orders' and they rolled of the line one behind the other so quickly and quietly they became known as Brass Balls cars.

The force is strong with this one, but do not fear that no one will buy it. There is another...

To give you an idea just how rare this thing is, I just checked Mecum and they didn't have a single Spector listed in their search, let alone a X Spector 8! It amazes me how all these years can pass and something can still come out of the wood work like this.

What is a 71 Deuce? :moonu:

I called the Spector's owner today. It seems he used to work for GM and is now retired. Then I got to comfortable and crossed the line. When I asked him about the X Spector 8, he said, in a rather anxious tone, "Who is this? Don't call me again!" and the phone went dead.

I don't know this 'Brian Albrecht' nor do I have any knowledge of any Buick cars that weren't secret special orders and weren't built from plans that didn't exist. Please, Government Motors, don't send the black Suburbans and the drones after me.

This is no lie: a friend of mine's family used to own a Jeep dealership. One day a guy came in wanting to trade his Pontiac Gooole in. They all looked at him kind of funny. As they walked out to the parking lot, it was a Pontiac......6000LE.

Did it come with the famous "710" cap?
