When I was young, my parents had a 1967 Electra Custom 4 dr hard top, light metallic blue, black vinyl roof and royal blue interior..it was beautiful! It was my mothers car and it didnt get used much because she was a stay at home mom and it was mainly a shopping and errand car that was always in the garage when not being used. I remember one time when I was a kid, and the car was about 7-8 yrs old, my parents had a wedding to go to, so they took the Electra. The way I remember it, they were pulling out of the church and my father said the engine made a loud banging sound, then a big thud and then stopped running. When he lifted up the hood, he saw the engine mounts broke and the 430 Wildcat engine pushed through the radiator. They had it towed and since it was out of warranty, had it fixed. Months later they received a letter from Buick informing them of an engine mount defect on this model. It stated that if you have not had an issue with the mounts breaking yet, then bring it to a dealership for no cost replacement mounts. But if you have had an issue with this and had them replaced and if it caused damaged, Buick would not be reimbursing for the repair. I remember my father getting mad, but he then became even more so when he read the phrase at the bottom of the form letter WOULDNT YOU REALLY RATHER HAVE A BUICK. They did keep the car a few more years after that, but then sold it. I was sorry to see it go, and wish I had it todayoh well.

I do seem to remember that there were two different mounts listed in the Buick parts book for the 67 430; - the original and a rerplacement one...had no idea what the differences were though. My old 67 Cat was a late production one though, so it never became an issue.
